Discover hidden towns, unforgettable characters, and the breathtaking routes that make Oregon a world-class cycling destination.

About the Book

Cycling Across Oregon follows a group of friends as they set out to explore the state’s 17 official scenic bikeways in a single year. Join them as they traverse Oregon’s diverse landscapes – across fertile farmland, around towering Douglas firs, and past high desert sagebrush – and discover what they encounter along the way.

This memoir narrates an exploration of Oregon using these bike routes as a road map. Stand in ruts created by countless wagons on the Oregon Trail. Meet the owners of a ghost town and gaze upon the intricate beauty of the Painted Hills. Travel along as they pedal over the Cascades, bike through historic covered bridges, and climb the state’s oldest standing lighthouse.

Meet a hiker trekking solo over the Pacific Crest Trail and admire the perseverance of a cyclist going coast to coast across America. Detour to loop around Crater Lake and its dazzling, deep blue water.” — From the author’s website
