The Cook Memorial Library Riverside StoryWalk® is the product of a collaboration between the Library, the La Grande Parks and Recreation Department, and the La Grande Public Works Department. It is located along the Greenway Trail at Riverside Park in La Grande.

The mission of the national Safe Routes Partnership is to advance safe walking and rolling to and from schools and in everyday life. Our local Safe Routes to School Coalition enables people through education and partnerships to build safe routes in our community. Recently, we’ve encouraged improved streets and sidewalks in the Central and Greenwood neighborhoods. Each month at our Wednesday Walks program at Central and Greenwood schools we focus on themes which encourage our children to move safely on our streets and sidewalks.

The Linda Elegant Memorial StoryWalk® is located at Birnie Park in La Grande. This StoryWalk® was funded by a monetary donation by Linda Elegant after her passing in 2023.
